Computer Engineering
Professor Yun joined the faculty at UC San Diego in 1994. Following his Master's degree at MIT in 1985, he joined TRW as a member of the technical start, where he had designed numerous high performance signal processors for spaceborne and tactical applications. In 1990, he )oined Hitachi Micro Systems as a senior design engineer to investigate the next generation microprocessor emulator architecture.

Research Interests

Synthesis, verification, and analysis of mixed-timed digital VLSI circuits and systems: design methodologies and tools; applications to ultra-high performance processor design and high-speed networking.

Current Research

The synthesis, verification, and analysis of niixed-timed VLSI designs: in particular, interface design methodologies and tools to facilitate Ultra High-Speed communications between synchronous modules operating at different clock frequencies and between synchronous and asynchronous modules and between asynchronous and asynchronous modules.

Honors and Distinctions
  • First Presidential Award, Hitachi Micro Systems, 1991
