Summary of Results
The funds of this PYI award were used to further develop deterministic approaches to the performance analysis of queueing networks. Sample path results were also used to gain insight to analysis with stochastic models. One of the most significant results of the project was the early development of the concept of a service curve. This forms the theoretical basis for the so-called ``Guaranteed Service Class" proposed by the integrated services working group of the Internet Engineering Task Force.
